VERSA
The success of these videos highlights just how important motion design is for brands. I've been told by the client that the social video content I create consistently outperforms what their on-site video team produces, despite those shoots being exponentially more expensive.
I've created countless social videos for LOFT and Ann Taylor, but I chose this VERSA post as a case study because for LOFT's new line, I wanted to craft something special that reflected the label's unique style.
ADAPTATION
Unlike my Ann Taylor videos, my LOFT videos are usually delivered in 16:9 for platforms like the website, Hulu, and PMax. However, because this campaign was particularly successful, it was also adapted for Reels.
WHAT I LEARNED
Motion design needs to match the look and feel of the brand—especially when it comes to social media. There's a common misconception that social content always needs to be edgy and youth-driven, and while that works for many brands, it’s just as important to understand what best serves the brand you're designing for.
I also learned that, when done well, motion design can be extremely cost-effective, especially when transforming still photography into dynamic video content.
